Shelly Minderides – Bosworth Theatre Stars
Bosworth Theatre Stars first opened its doors in Sept 2015. The school has grown considerably over the last 3 years and we are so proud of all our fabulous students.
The school is run by Shelly Minderides, a professional dancer and actress with many years’ experience performing in London’s West End theatres, regional tours, commercials and TV.
Shelly danced from a very young age and at 16 was awarded a full scholarship by Cameron Mackintosh to attend the London Studio Centre on a 3-year Musical Theatre Diploma.
On graduating from LSC, she worked on many shows including ‘Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ starring Philip Schofield. ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’(Alice) National Tour. ‘Me and My Girl’ (Perth rep) and Aspects Of Love, where she had the privilege of working with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Shelly has done numerous Pantomimes and done her fair share of ‘it’s behind you!’ She played ‘Wendy’ in E&B’s Peter Pan, (Belfast and Cardiff) and Princess Jasmine in Perth Reps ‘Sinbad the Sailor’ pantomime. Shelly went on to work as ‘lead vocalist’ for P&O’s Stadium Theatre Company on ‘Oriana’, ‘Arcadia’ and the final voyage of ‘Victoria’ She had an amazing time travelling down the Panama Canal and being attacked by giant moths in the Amazon rainforest!
Shelly then went on to complete a post-graduate classical acting diploma at Drama Studio London and graduated with honours. Here she got to work alongside directors from BBC’s Holby City, Eastenders and Silent Witness and studied Shakespeare under ‘The Original Shakespeare Company’ director ‘Patrick Tucker.’ Shelly was taught singing under Maureen Scott (X factor vocal coach) using the Jo Estill approach.
She went on to work as an actor and workshop leader for drama schools. Teaching performing arts has become something of a passion. She has worked as a private singing coach and helped students with their entrance exams into dance and drama schools. Shelly also teaches LAMDA examinations and is a qualified IDTA teacher.
